Matt Wilkerson is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Extern.com, the pioneering edtech company behind the remote “Externship” — a short, high-quality work experience that helps students and career switchers build real-world professional expertise remotely for the AI era.

With Extern, Matt has scaled the vision of democratizing access to work experience: he leads efforts to design turnkey, expert-led projects that deliver meaningful outcomes for learners and hiring organizations.

Before starting Extern, Matt co-founded and served as CEO of Paragon One, a platform focused on virtual work-based learning and internship placement.

Matt’s background combines deep experience in both finance and technology. He worked in venture capital at Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV) and began his career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley.

He holds two Bachelor of Science degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): one in Computer Science & Engineering, and the other in Management Science.
